Rangoli Foundation for Art & Culture, based in Los Angeles was established in 1985 by artistic director, Malathi Iyengar. Rangoli Foundation is dedicated to presenting and fostering the performing and visual arts of India. In India, the antiquity of the visual art 'Rangoli', symbolizes Beauty, Hope, and Tradition. This symbolism has been an inspiration to name the company 'Rangoli'. Rangoli Foundation is committed to developing cultural awareness and inter-cultural dialogue through the artistic expressions of dance, music, theater and visual arts. Its strength is in drawing resources from diverse cultures to creatively engage in a collaborative process to preserve and share traditional works through a variety of arts experiences, including public performances, festivals, workshops, teaching, and residencies. For more than two decades, Rangoli Dance Company has performed extensively in India, Canada, and United States presenting traditional Bharatanatyam classical dance of India as well
