ReadyKids promotes kids' well-being through counseling, family support, and early learning opportunities. For over 100 years, we have served Charlottesville and the five surrounding counties with programs and services that respond to the changing needs of kids and families. In FY24, we impacted more than 5,300 kids, parents, and caregivers through our seven programs, and 94.6% of participants met targeted outcomes.

Programs

Family Support Programs: REAL Dads mentors dads to build more secure relationships with their kids. Through facilitated group meetings and one-on-one coaching sessions, fathers develop skills to grow Relationships, Employment, Ambitions, and Legacy (REAL) relationships with their kids. Healthy Families fosters nurturing family relationships for pregnant people and safe environments for young children through regular home visiting. These programs impacted 357 participants and over 90% of participants met targeted outcomes.

Inside Out provides counseling to help kids and families who have experienced trauma begin the healing process. Teen Counseling provides individual and family counseling to foster positive, nurturing family relationships and to ensure that teens are safe and healthy. These programs impacted 740 participants and over 90% of participants met targeted outcomes.

Community Engagement works with local organizations and participants to help provides services in Charlottesville, Albemarle, and the surrounding counties. Community Engagement organizes community events, partners with local organizations to advance participant wellbeing, and attends local events on behalf of ReadyKids.
