Community rebuild days in 2024, rtnyc partnered with 7 local nonprofits over 8 project days, engaging nearly 300 volunteers to strengthen community spaces across nyc. Projects included building 36 garden beds, assembling 3 picnic tables, organizing a donation room, and completing repairs and beautification efforts such as landscaping and creating outdoor space for gardening and family gatherings - all in collaboration with community leaders to promote healthier, more vibrant neighborhoods.
Careers in construction rebuilding together nyc's workforce development program's "careers in construction" is a comprehensive six-week pre-apprenticeship program that provides training and certifications to nyc residents seeking careers in the construction industry. These careers provide a structured pathway into the middle class along with economic independence. In 2024, cic graduated 75 students, and placed 41, 85% of those placed in union apprenticeship programs.
