Thelma's kitchen is kansas city's first and only pay-it-forward community cafe. We offer meals on a tiered menu system with items ranging from $1 to $15, so that everybody eats. In addition to all proceeds going to support social and mental health services, patrons also have the option to pay lunch forward to their neighbors by purchasing thelma's kitchen tokens. That's why our motto is "share a meal. Build community. Pay it forward." 4,200 lunches were offered to those who couldn't afford a meal and nearly 6,000 hours of volunteer service opportunity were shared with the community
