The mission of the festival is to provide the general populace a celebration of the finest visual and performing arts experiences.

Shreveport farmers' marketduring the summer and fall seasons, a farmers' market is held at the downtown festival plaza to unite local farmers, gardeners, and others within the community to enjoy locally grown fruits, vegetables, and plants; homemade breads and jams; and a variety of other locally produced foods. Live music is featured during the event.
