Mission

Humanitarian aid for displaced civilians near conflict zones with non-gov orgs & others. Refugee protection international (rpi) offers a scalable, grassroots model of frontline aid. Our mission is to partner with local ngos and duty bearers to strengthen protection and self-reliance among urban refugees, internally displaced persons (idps) and host communities near conflict zones.rpi and community-led partners respond to some of the world's most complex humanitarian crises, including wars in gaza-israel, ukraine, syria, lebanon and the turkey-syria earthquakes aiding close to 1 million civilians. Founded in 2015, rpi prioritizes community-led relief and has conducted cross-border aid deliveries to ukraine. Rpi supports refugee women's empowerment with its partners by funding livelihoods training overseas and selling refugee-made crafts in the us to aid displaced communities, with proceeds also supporting malnutrition screening, treatment and education for conflict-affected children.

O protection & self-reliance: in this program, rpi efforts & support to refugee-led partners aided 145,423 war-affected civilians in gaza, ukraine, syria, lebanon & turkey. In gaza, 113,000 primarily displaced women, children, elderly & pwd received hot meals, food rations, clothing, blankets, psychosocial support or mpca for medical & travel needs through implementing partners. Aid in egypt will go to 12,780 idps in gaza once blockade is fully lifted. 5,835 displaced syrian & lebanese received food, women's livelihoods, and pediatric psychosocial support funded by rpi's us sale of crafts made by displaced women trained with our funding & partners. In se ukraine, 13,800 civilians & 200 planned benefited from rpi-shipped clothing, aid deliveries, art therapy or stipends through our ukrainian partners.

Housing conditions: rpi's relief efforts & support to refugee-led partners aided 13,027 conflict-affected civilians with shelter nfi assistance in gaza and ukraine. In gaza, 6,138 idps received shelter winterization kits (tent insulation, mats, heating, thermal wear, blankets, winter gear) through our turkey based implementing partner. Gaza's idp camps also benefited from rpi-funded community water tanks, repairs to water wells, and support to water stations reported under our health program above. In ukraine, up to 6,889 civilians in ukrainian-controlled frontline areas of zaporizhzhia, kherson & odessa benefited from rpi-shipped household supplies to our ukrainian partners for community distribution. Across all 3 programs above, rpi & its grassroots partners aided some 269,725 civilians in 2024.
