Mission
RCND exists to empower neighbors alongside neighbors most-impacted by Durham's community violence and criminal legal system, in pursuit of a community that names, owns, and transforms the harm we do to one another.
Programs
3 programs
REENTRY & RECONCILIATION ministry, since 2003. In 2024, volunteers gathered in mutual support around over 45 neighbors returning from long-term incarceration, in 22 trained community support teams.
VIGIL MINISTRY of compassionate response to community violence, since 1997. In 2024, community volunteers came alongside over 60 survivor families in vigils of public witness, court companionship, and long-term grief, social, and spiritual support.
