The Remembrance Society is dedicated to documenting and exposing the crimes of totalitarianism and to raising awareness about present totalitarian dangers.

Events included two press conferences at the National Press Club and a critical commemoration of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Velvet Revolution in which the Communist Party relinquished control of Czechoslovakia and Vaclav Havel was democratically elected as its President.
