Cup of nations and work among refugees in the usa - cup of nations is an international soccer tournament that brings communities together to celebrate cultures, build relationships, and share the gospel. In the current fiscal year, rs hosted three cup of nations tournaments in houston. Over the past 13 years, 99 nations have participated, impacting more than 50,000 people. The tournament has also been hosted in 30 cities across the usa and 45 countries worldwide, expanding its reach and impact. The tournament serves as a platform for multiplying disciples and working toward the fulfillment of the great commission, with a goal to create an uplifting community where nations and churches can come together through the bridge of sport. ....see schedule o for more information
Equipping leaders and catalyzing movements rs equips and trains local immigrants and refugees to lead effectively and make disciples of all nations through sport, play and fitness. During the current fiscal year, rs equipped over 250 leaders from 57 cities in north america and nearly 3,000 leaders globally in disciple-making strategies. These leaders actively implement the strategies and principles developed through rs leadership's work among the nations of houston. Cup of nations is one of the key strategies used to achieve this.
