Food Hub - Starting in May 2023, Provides aggregation and distribution of food products including locally grown products for the mobile store, Grocery Box and food as medicine programs for other nonprofit agencies and tribes. Tulsa Regional Food Hub is a collaboration of multiple organizations to overcome challenges in the food supply chain which present significant barriers for healthy food access. RG Foods is a partner on the Tulsa County Food Plan committee spearheading the feasibility study for the formation of a Food Hub Cooperative to facilitate this collaboration. The proposed facility will support bulk purchasing, access to special pricing, strategic calendaring, expanding purchasing options and ease distribution logistics. In 2024, the Food Hub aggregated 78,000 lbs of food for ten organizations, and $135,000 in retail products to strengthen the local supply chain.

Expenses: $89K

Grocery Box - The Grocery Box is a unique micro store model that is meant to serve neighborhoods will little to no access to healthy food. It is constructed of Standard Insulated Panels (SIP) providing 60% reduction in energy costs and a modular design that is easily replicable providing a low cost entry and a nimble solution to re-populate neighborhoods with fresh food stores. It is also an economic solution to food insecurity by providing a social entrepreneurial opportunity for residents to own and operate their own neighborhood stores. 2024 continued the planning and building stage for The Grocery Box with the grand opening expected in Spring 2025.

Expenses: $28K

RG Kitchen - Through partnerships with FreshRX, Tulsa Urban Ag Coalition, Hunger Free Oklahoma, Osage Tribe and more, we hosted 15 cooking demonstrations to teach families how to prepare nutritious food. 1,560 lbs of food waste were rescued to create meals and held 82 culinary events ensuring farmers, grocers and organizations benefit from a stronger local food system. The model of integrating programing across the food system proves that healthy communities and economic prosperity go hand in hand. Through strategic partnerships, food education, workforce development, and innovative retail solutions, we are proving systems change is possible.
