Mission

Our mission is to build a world that is free of harassment and filled with humanity. We carry out this mission by building the power of everyday people to create safe and welcoming environments for all.

Expert voices together (evt) provides trauma-informed support to journalists and researchers whose vital public-interest work is being undermined by coordinated campaigns of abuse and harassment. Without the assistance offered by evt, experts may stop sharing their important work, or worse, quit altogether. We help keep expert voices in the public square.

Expenses: $711K

Tracking stories of hate and hope: right to be's hate and hope tracker, is right to be's online storytelling platform for individuals to share, document, and map experiences of hate, harassment, or bystander intervention, and to receive real time support from bystanders. Bystanders can support by including or providing documentation, sending supportive messages, reporting platforms, and more, all chosen by the person experiencing the harassment. Since 2005, right to be has collected over 32,000 stories.

Expenses: $207K

The allies solidarity network is a network of partners that take action against hate and harassment, in all its forms. We act proactively to raise awareness, amplify the efforts of each partner's mission, and facilitate collaborative programming in areas such as rapid response advocacy, education, and policy change. Ultimately, we aim to harness the power of the collective to strengthen all our efforts for a more just world.

Expenses: $159K

Right to be's 5ds for you(th) program is a school-based* anti-bullying curriculum for youth in grades 8-12 that is primarily focused on creating an environment in which bullying is not welcomed. We do this by empowering students to safely intervene when they observe bullying and disrespect, using right to be's 5ds of bystander intervention.
