Agriculture leadership activities the roane county farm bureau structure of organizational leadership provides many opportunities for member leaders to keep abreast of issues that affect agriculture. Local board members attend organizational & educational meetings each month. They participate in other local agricultural, civic, & community organizations. Leaders attend district, state & national conferences to network with farmers & other agriculturalists to learn about current issues facing agriculture. A highly developed committee structure provides leadership opportunities for members through meetings, regular communications, and agricultural activities.
Youth leadership development the roane county farm bureau supports youth ag organizations both financially and with volunteer hours. The organization is a primary sponsor of the roane county 4-h foundation and they also give a schlorship to a 4-h member who plans on majoring in agriculture. The roane county school children get to tour and visit a working farm to see what goes on on a farm and where their food and fiber comes from.
