This grant funds the Chicago Bulls Community Assist Fund, a McCormick Foundation Fund. The Chicago Bulls Community Assist Fund, established in 2009, is supported with major funding by Chicago Bulls Charities, which is then matched 50% by the Robert R. McCormick Foundation. Contributing to the McCormick Foundation allows Chicago Bulls Charities to maximize its giving potential, allowing it to make a bigger impact on those in need. In 2017, the Chicago Bulls Community Assist Fund awarded grants to various organizations that offer youth education and youth health and wellness programing, including After School Matters, After-School All-Stars, Chicago Parks Foundation, Embarc, Inc. , La Rabida Children's Hospital and Research Center, Mercy Home, Posse Chicago, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, Anne & Robert Lurie Children's Hospital, Breakthrough Ministries, Girls in the Game, Lawndale Community Health Center and Youth Guidance.
