Woodruff Foundation Expanding Capacity for Cultural Preservation and Programming Project Grant Overall Purpose: The Expanding Capacity for Cultural Preservation and Programming Project will complete the expansion of archival storage areas and realize the evolved role of the Exhibition Hall in learning. Once completed, the project will significantly improve and optimize archives storage spaces, and enhance the complementary active learning space for increased functionality and engagement with students, faculty and the broader community. The Expanding Capacity for Cultural Preservation and Programming Project has two major components: (1) expansion and updating of archival storage capacity; and (2) enhancement of the complementary exhibition hall active learning space where programming, scholarship, learning, teaching, and utilizing archival and other Library resources is amplified. Benefits for retrofitting current storage rooms and renovating onsite space include: . Consistent accessibility to all collections and uninterrupted service to patrons and staff . Complete control over the security and environment . Improved safety for archivists working with collections housed in the current storage rooms . Installment of recommended industry-standard shelving materials FY24 Objectives Met: Archival Storage Confirmed goals: . A lower level area in the Library was converted into the new Lower Level (LL) ARC Storage Space in July 2023 . LED lighting installation in the LL ARC Storage Space was completed in July 2023 . Installation of high-density book and collection shelving in the LL ARC Storage Space was completed in July 2023 . Installation of an HVAC system meeting standards for archival spaces in the LL ARC Storage Space was completed in August 2023 . Installation of art storage racks in the LL ARC Storage Space completed in August 2023 . Decommissioning of HALON protection system with a new clean agent fire suppression system completed in the Upper Level (UL) ARC Storage Space, completed September 2023 . Installation of high-density book and collection shelving in the UL ARC Storage Spaces was completed in November 2023 EHTP Confirmed goals: . Final EHTP design documents and hard project pricing was completed July 2023 . Lord Aeck Sargent and DPR completed EHTP Construction Document preparation phase in February 2024 . Demolition activities were completed in June 2024 . Construction starts in July 2024 with estimated completion in November 2024

Mellon Enhancing Institutional DI & Descriptive Practices Grant 2210-13949 Between July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024 the following notable activities occurred: 1) Completed metadata analysis of holdings 2) Built a testing sandbox to them and prep for deployment 3) Developed priorities for metadata normalization for 148 archival collections and scholarship 4) Normalization of MCMLK metadata completed - 25 series (11,467 records) 5) Preparation of Theses and Dissertations completed for ingest (9,216 records)
