Programs

4 programs

Food program: the dining room is the heart of rosie's place, where women come for nourishment, friendship and community. The kitchen prepares and serves wholesome, nutritious and culturally inclusive meals 365 days a year, in a cheerful environment. The dining room has serves three meals during the week and two meals on weekends and holidays. All meals are offered to-go for guests who prefer, or need, to take it with them. The food pantry provides housed women with free, nutritious groceries once a week. Groceries include variety, are culturally inclusive and meet dietary needs and preferences.

Expenses: $5.9M

Overnight program - the overnight program at provides safe, dignified, on-site emergency shelter for 20 women at a time for a 28-day/night extended stay. The longer stay allows women to take advantage of all that rosie's place has to offer. While many of the guests in this program come directly from sleeping on the streets, others are escaping an abusive relationship or have been newly evicted. For women ready to take significant steps to change their lives, our overnight program serves as the bridge between housing and homelessness.

Expenses: $1.2M

Women's education the women's education center, through educational classes and workforce development, welcomes women unconditionally to participate in a compassionate and celebratory learning community. We offer english language, literacy, writing classes, computer classes and more.all classes are free and students are not required to pass any tests to enroll, enabling them to learn at their own pace as they progress through curriculum levels. The classes continue to be operated via a hybrid program offering a combination of onsite and remote options for students. Our employment specialist helps guests access job training progams and apply for, acquire and keep gainful employment in the community.

Expenses: $974K

Behavioral health - the behavioral health program provides opportunities for guests with needs related to mental health and/or substance use disorders to build social and emotional skills, self-efficacy, and self-awareness so they can be more successfully engaged in support systems and realize healthier and more stable lives. Services include triage for guests in crisis, assessment, and short-term individual case management, ongoing support through drop-in hours, one-on-one meetings and support groups. The director also provides clinical oversite and training for all of our direct service staff.
