Rotary's fireworks committee coordinated permits for airport closure and valley transportation authority rerouting, hired the pyrotechnical firm, coordinated police and fire department personnel, contracted for fencing, portable toilets, and entertainment, and marketed the free july 4 fireworks show in discovery meadow.

Rotary international services: rotary international is committed to the concept of world peace and understanding. With this commitment in mind, the rotary club of san jose looks to provide services outside the united states to help communities abroad and to eliminate polio around the world.

Rotaplast international: rotaplast international sponsors medical missions to developing countries to perform free reconstructive surgery to children around the world who are born with cleft lip or palate anomalies. The rotary club of san jose (rcsj) pays for the supplies and equipment needed and covers the cost to fly them and the medical personnel to the country where the surgeries are performed. Rcsj recruites club members, who pay for their travel, as volunteer support staff.
