Rural Digital Youth Resiliency Project Inc

RESEARCH: We continued focus groups with high school and college-age students on their digital experiences, digital culture and exposure to online harms and continued multi-platform digital ethnography with rural community members. We continued to develop a moral injury framework to address young peoples exposure to online harms and susceptibility to online manipulation. We continued work with a national rural youth working group - Growing Rural Voters - sharing resources, research and collaborating on new research for addressing challenges facing rural youth. We served as an active member of the Coalition Against Online Violence, including in working groups focused Newsroom support and Research and Knowledge sharing. We continued disseminating research through presentations, briefings and workgroups for parents, educators, coaches, faith leaders, clinicians and other community members. (CONT. SCH. O34)

YOUTH TRAUMA INFORMED PROGRAMMING- We conducted 6 regional workshops in Appalachia that included delivery of civics and community wellbeing programming, conducting interviews and oral histories of young rural peoples lives to inform the development of resources that reflect the experiences and realities of rural young people and rural families on and offline. We expanded our collaboration with the organization Rural Youth Catalyst to develop trauma-informed curriculum, programs and outreach designed for rural young people living in precarity and experiencing the impacts of trauma both on and offline.
