MEDICAL PROGRAMS "GIVE BEAUTY BACK TO THE CHILDREN"- PEDIATRIC MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY FUNDIn 2010, RCWS launched "Give Beauty Back to the Children," in partnership with Professor Vitaly Roginsky, Head of the Moscow Center for Maxillofacial Surgery (MCMS) and Lev Ambinder, Head of the Rusfond. MCMS is one of the most innovative facilities in Russia providing treatment and rehabilitation for children with facial deformities. In 2024, through our partnership with the MCMS and Rusfond, RCWS assisted 93 children from low income families and orphanages in need of complex maxillofacial surgeries. In 2024, RCWS allocated $100,000 towards this project. Through our partnership with Rusfond an additional $492,593 was provided to MCMS from donors in Russia. The average cost per surgery is in the range of $2,500-$5,000. The hospital has a waiting list of children and relies on RCWS support. OTHER MEDICALRCWS allocated $6,670 to the neonatal intensive care unit at the "Children's Multidisciplinary Clinical Specialized Center for High Medical Technologies" in St. Petersburg. The RCWS grant covered 7 sets of the phototherapeutic lamps/irradiators for treating newborns with high bilirubin levels, preventing dangerous complications. Annually over 900 children will benefit from this project. RCWS awarded $7,669 to the Rostov "Perinatal Center", Rostov-on-Don. Annually, the center welcomes 5,000 to 6,000 newborns, with 14% - 17% being premature. The premature infants' bodies are not fully prepared for life outside the womb, relying on intravenous medications for vital support to maintain cardiovascular, respiratory, and nervous system functions. The intravenous nutrition is also essential. RCWS funds were allocated towards 3 sets of syringe infusion systems to precisely administer medications, with a minimal harm to the newborn's body. By utilizing this equipment, infants receive necessary medications at precise dosage and speed, facilitating faster recovery, reducing complication risks, and providing necessary support for their development.RCWS provided $6,916 to the "Starooskolskaya District Children's Hospital" in Stary Oskol, Belgorodsky region. The hospital performs daily surgeries requiring endotracheal anesthesia, crucial for pain-free procedures. The hospital required laryngoscopes with blade sets for tracheal intubation, vital for both surgical and emergency cases. Laryngoscope's battery chargers and light systems also required replacement due to intensive use. RCWS sponsored 3 sets of Laryngoscopes, LED laryngoscope light system, 46 sets of Miller and Macintosh laryngoscope blades. Thanks to this equipment, the treatment and rehabilitation procedures will improve, reducing waiting times and lowering the risk of patient infections.

ORPHANAGESRCWS goal is to enable orphanages to meet basic needs, and to promote comprehensive programs that help orphans grow to be healthy and independent adults. RCWS awarded $7,667 to the Shatura Orphanage for children with special needs in Moscow region. In 2023 the Shatura Orphanage was extended and now incorporates the Special Education School in the city of Roshal to accommodate increased number of children with disabilities. Currently, over 300 children with special needs attend the Shatura and Roshal schools. About 45% of children at Roshal School are diagnosed with cerebral palsy and move with the help of wheelchairs. Since the Roshal School building was vacant for many years, the floors and doors needed repairs. RCWS grant covered removal and installation of 15 doors and door-frames, linoleum flooring, and renovation of the sensor room. The Golovenkovski Orphanage in Tula Region received $8,045 to replace kitchen cabinets and living room furniture. The Orphanage continues to serve blind, deaf-blind and children with special needs. Due to the health conditions of children, furniture often breaks and wears out quickly. Special kitchen furniture will allow children to learn basic self-service skills. New furniture would allow children to rest comfortably and improve their living conditions. Over 120 children will benefit from this project. The Krasnogorodski Orphanage for children with special needs, Pskov region received $7,834 to renovate bathrooms, including replacing plumbing, radiator heaters, installing new shower cabins and purchasing washing machines. These upgrades will improve the living conditions for the children. RCWS allocated $3,223 to the Potma Orphanage in the Republic of Mordovia. The orphanage provides housing, education and medical care to children with special needs. RCWS grant sponsored modular children's beds with drawers for storing personal belongings and toys. It was not possible to add additional cabinets, because the children's bedrooms were so small. Thanks to RCWS support, the children have more comfortable living conditions, with all their toys and personal items at hand.RCWS provided $6,878 to the Opochka Orphanage for children with special needs in Pskov region. Thanks to the RCWS aid, the children's bedrooms and study rooms were renovated and broken furniture was replaced. RCWS awarded $8,427 to the Nikolo-Solbinsky Orphanage (Solba) in Yaroslavl Region to cover food for 250 children, books, textbooks, art supplies and special celebrations. Solba provides girls not only with food, clothes and medical treatment but also with secondary and professional education. Special emphasis is made on children's involvement in arts, music and theater. Currently, 250 girls (from birth to 22 years of age) reside at Solba Orphanage and their number continues to grow. Currently, the Solba includes the Social and Rehabilitation Center, Nursery, Pre-School, School and College. All of the girls sing in a choir, participate in an array of arts and crafts, are taught to sew, embroider, bead, draw, play musical instruments and perform in theater productions. Annually, the Solba is organizing large events, such as holidays and festivals, attracting over 5,000 guests from local villages. RCWS allocated $6,880 to the Pechora Regional Center for Assistance to Children Left without Parental Care in Pskov Region. Thanks to the RCWS support, the Center was able to purchase sport equipment for it newly built gym, expanding sports activities for students. RCWS granted $8,750 to the St. Alexis School & Orphanage to cover the cost of essential food for 265 children. St. Alexis does not have enough money to pay for bread, cereals, vegetable oil and other products. Thanks to the RCWS support, the children received sufficient grains, sugar, and fruits in their diet, ensuring their well-being and nutrition. St. Alexis community consists of the Orphanage, St. Alexis School, the Cadets Corps, Vocational School, and the School of Arts. St. Alexis School is the only school in the region which provides education, room and board, medical & dental care, and counseling free of charge to those in need. Due to excellent education, 80% of graduates of the St. Alexis School continuing their education at top universities and colleges in Russia.RCWS awarded $6,901 to the Bobrovsky Orphanage in Pskov region to continue and build on the success of the previously sponsored project "Training Apartment". This project allows young people with disabilities to live full time in a training house for 1 year accompanied by a social worker and a teacher. RCWS grant covered furniture, home equipment, kitchen tools, plumbing costs at the training house. Upon completion of training, the next group of young people with special needs will move into the training house for the next academic year.

REHABILITATION CENTERS FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDSRCWS provided $4,073 to the Rehabilitation Center "Krug" in Moscow to cover summer rehabilitation program and travel for 14 children with special needs and their parents. A vital aspect to children's development, particularly those with autism spectrum disorders, is travel. When children are introduced to new environments and are culturally stimulated, they become noticeably engaged and joyful. During the Krug summer retreat, the teachers are working not only with children, but also with their parents, teaching them coping mechanism, providing support and opportunity to meet other families. The Center's programs are designed to help the participants gradually integrate into society while understanding how to best manage their disabilities. Many of the Center's students have gone on to attend regular schools, college or found employment. The Children's Rehabilitation Center "Inspiration" in Moscow region received $7,460 from RCWS. There are at least 40 children at the Center at any given time. During summer months this number increases to 100. RCWS grant covered food for 40 children for 3 months, utilities, installation of new windows, replacing old furniture in children's rooms, purchasing a printer and art supplies. RCWS awarded $7,450 to the non-profit "Mercy-Rybinsk" to provide in-kind donations (household items, needed basic appliances, food, social assistance) to 10 or more low-income families with many children living in rural areas of Yaroslavl region. "Mercy-Rybinsk" mission is to provide assistance to socially vulnerable population and those who are in crisis. With RCWS support, "Mercy-Rybinsk" helped 10 families to repair their only home, purchase necessary furniture and household equipment, orthopedic shoes and food, improving the quality of life for these large families from villages, including 48 children.OTHERIn 2024, RCWS allocated $12,059 to the International Charitable Foundation named after Vladimir Spivakov, Moscow to cover accommodation, transportation expenses and meals for 320 children attending the XXI "Moscow Welcomes Friends" Festival. Over 1,000 gifted children from various parts of Russia and 28 countries participated in the festival. Additionally, RCWS grant would cover a new computer, printer and scanner to make the Foundation's on-going work (organizing concerts, art exhibits, music competitions, etc.) more efficient. During 2024, RCWS provided scholarships to 28 talented young musicians affiliated with the Spivakov Foundation.YELKA ANNUAL NEW YEAR AND CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONIn December 2024, the RCWS Moscow team delivered Christmas gifts to 3,200 children from 33 organizations in Pskov, Yaroslavl, Kislovodsk, Ryazan, Kostroma, Novomoskovsk, Moscow & Moscow region, and other locations. RCWS shipments with Christmas gifts were delivered to all the recipients. For most of these children it is the only present they will receive throughout the year. In 2024, RCWS allocated $20,329 towards this project.
