Mission

The mission of the Sacramento Historical Society is to preserve and promote the historical heritage of the Sacramento region; to educate and enlighten the public with regard to the importance of Sacramento's history and to promote a greater awareness of, and to act as a resource for, inquiries regarding Sacramento regional history. Our vision is to unite people to preserve and promote Sacramento's golden history.

Revenue from tickets sold to our organization's historical events, programs, and lectures that promote the history of the Sacramento region. Related expenses include: compensation for research and videography that promote that history, advertising for events, Zoom software for virtual events, rent for our venue, insurance, and website management and design software that enables the organization to sell event tickets online and provide a library of our historical publications to members for free.
