Programs

In addition to our seven performances, the sacramento philharmonic & opera was also able to provide music via other performance opportunities. We provided the live music for all 8 live performances of the sacramento nutcracker, playing for 16,000 patrons throughout the course of the performances. We also continued our tradition of playing live music for sacramento's run to feed the hungry, in which we performed for more than 30,000 runners at the run.
Additionally, in the 2023-24 season, we were able to return to in-person music education program, link up - the sp&o's flagship education program. The program culminated in march 2024 when thousands of title 1 students came down to the safe pac to perform what they learned in the program, live, with the sp&o musicians. The excitement was palpable, as the thousands of students sang, danced, and played recorder while a screen above the stage cycled through pieces of music. Everyone had a wonderful time!
