Mission
Safe Black Space creates opportunities for Black people to heal and thrive. Safe Black Space is designed to offer various services to address people of African ancestry's individual and community reactions to Cultural and Racial trauma. The specific objectives and purpose of this organization are: (1) to provide culturally specific strategies to help Black people heal from racial stress and trauma, (2) to provide education around the current and historical significance of racism and its impact on black people's daily lives, and (3) to provide culturally relevant resources to support the wellness of people in African ancestry.
Programs

Provided book study group focused on African-centered psychology for approximately 50 attendees with esteemed author. Participants read a book together over a number of months where they learned, discussed, and applied the principles.
African Drum Circles - Held family-friendly gatherings to promote African drumming and dancing as wellness tools for the Black community. Circles were offered in collaboration with a number of other local Black oganizations. 225 participants.
Kwanzaa Kutoa Celebration honored seven Black families who live in the Sacramento area in need of support. 150 people attended the celebration.
