Mission
SHF's SMILE! Project helps to keep good dogs in good homes and out of shelters by increasing the handling skills of their people. Our Dragonfly Dog Park & Nature Center is a place where community members can learn about and enjoy nature, and where budding beekeepers can learn bee-handling skills in our teaching apiary. SHF is also a sanctuary for forest and freshwater turtles.

Animal care, sanctuary maintenance and nature center development at Safe Harbor Farm. SHF is home, at any time, to 10-15 dogs, cats, goats and birds, plus dozens of aquatic and semi-aquatic turtles. Its 61 acres includes a 1-acre dog park, 14-hive teaching apiary and 2 miles of nature trails being groomed for community use and educational purposes.
SHF occasionally rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes at-risk dogs.
