Mission

Safe Passage for Children of Minnesota is a citizens' group that advocates for improvements in Minnesota's child welfare system. Our mission is to ensure that Minnesota has a child welfare system in which children are safe and reach their full potential.

Programs

2 programs

Safe Passage supported a variety of bills aimed at protecting children, including the following: a misdemeanor charge for anyone impeding a report of suspected child abuse or neglect; systematic review of all child deaths in Minnesota due to maltreatment; improvements to Social Services Information System (SSIS) to streamline data entry and free up time for case management and case interactions. All bills passed.

Safe Passage volunteers sent personal email messages to their legislators related to their state Representatives and Senators throughout the legislative session as well as during in-person visits to legislators during an annual Day on the Hill.
