Salt Lake Crit

Salt lake crit is an educational and sports organization that runs one festival type event per year. The event has two main parts. First, the organization hosts a number of educational and safety programs designed to promote bicycling in the community, particularly among youth but also with adults. This activity takes approximately 50 percent of the organization's total time. The other portion of the event is a criterium style bicycle race which draws participants from all over the united states, and even some international participants. A criterium, or crit, style race is a bike race consisting of several laps around a closed circuit. This activity takes approximately 50 percent of the organization's total time. The activity is conducted by the organization' board members, employees, and volunteers. The festival event takes place in salt lake city, utah. The activity is funded through donations, sponsorships, and some limited sales of branded merchandise.
