Programs
2 programs
Preparatory: the preparatory program served 200 students last year and offers the same world-class training found in the conservatory to students of all levels. It has become a highly sought-after community resource for tuition-based music training, with demand exceeding available space. Offerings include early childhood music education, theory and musicianship classes, ensemble training, and private lessons in piano, violin, viola, cello, bass, voice, flute, trumpet, clarinet, bassoon, oboe, guitar, and ukulele. Needs-based scholarships are available.
Grit: project grit served 445 students last year and brings world-class music education to the most at-risk children, tuition-free. Working with the salt lake county board of education and salt lake school district, we identified mountain view elementary as an ideal starting location and have since expanded to guadalupe school and city academy. These public title i schools serve some of the most diverse, economically impacted student populations in the state.
