Arnold ventures police accountability grant ii - arnold ventures supports salvation and social justice efforts to advance police accountability legislative efforts as well as a second look bill which would allow new jersey prisoners who have served at least 20 years of their sentence to petition the court for resentencing. Phase two of arnold ventures grant will support work that will involve drafting clean up legislation (to senate bill 2742 signed into law july 2022) and will require continued legislative advocacy along with conversations with law and public safety to secure the strongest possible regulations. Additionally, phase two's work around police accountability will include advocacy around use of force legislation as well as community led alternative response legislation.

Community catalyst voices for health justice 2.0 grant the voices for health justice project is designed to address the stark reality that far too often, people experience a health system built to meet the priorities of providers and payors, and that fundamentally fails to meet their needs and priorities. This is especially true for people and communities who face discriminatory barriers to health care, access, and coverage due to race, ethnicity, income, age, immigration status, disability, lgbtqia+ identity, and the intersectionality of such identities. For the health system to be more responsive to communities, policy change must be rooted in the experiences, perspectives, and leadership of the people most harmed by the systems and married to an intentional focus on building the lasting power of people and organizations working towards equitable and anti-racist health system changes. The grant will help to support you in designing projects that are intentional about community power building efforts.
