To foster hope and healing through professional counseling, consultation, and education while respecting and integrating personal and spiritual values. It is the mission of the center to ensure access to quality professional counseling services without regard for a person's ability to pay full fee.

Programs

Through samaritan center's clinical training and residency program, samaritan has expanded its outreach services to include the following: teenhope provides mental health screening for teens in local middle and high schools to determine a student's risk for depression, anxiety and/or suicidal ideation. School-based counseling provides ongoing counseling for students in a school setting. Samaritan's older adult mental health care program is exploring effective ways to provide mental health care to older adults in continuing care retirement communities.

In addition, samaritan provides services in support of clergy, congregations and regional associations, including ministry assessments, congregational assessments, spiritual direction and other consultation. Samaritan also has a business consulting group which focuses on organizational development services and executive searches.

TEENHOPE IS A SCHOOL-BASED PROGRAM IN LANCASTER COUNTY SCHOOLS SCREENING STUDENTS TO IDENTIFY THOSE STRUGGLING WITH DEPRESSION, ANXIETY AND SUICIDAL THOUGHTS. WE CURRENTLY PARTNER WITH 16 AREA SCHOOL SYSTEMS. STUDENTS COMPLETE 2 SCREENING TOOLS: THE PHQ-9 AND THE GAD-7. TEENHOPE FACILITATES REFERRALS FOR AT-RISK STUDENTS. THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROJECT IS TO TRANSITION THE PROCESS TO DIGITAL. WE PLANNED TO GO DIGITAL FOR EFFICIENCY AND ACCESSIBILITY PURPOSES. IT IS NOW AN URGENT NEED DUE TO COVID.
