Mission

As educational attainment is a significant need and a barrier to breaking cycles of generational poverty and economic mobility, the purpose of san damiano scholars is to assist with providing access to educational opportunities, for grades kindergarten to twelve, to low-resource families within the community by providing scholarship funding through the state of louisiana's student tuition organization program. San damiano scholars operates within the parameters of louisiana's school tuition organization and tuition donation credit programs, raising private funds to provide catholic school scholarships to those most in need in the community. San damiano scholars works with parents and students to apply for scholarship funding at one of three baton rouge catholic schools, and, pending acceptance into those schools, then provides the needed scholarship funding to attend. San damiano scholars also issues tax credits to donors who meet the qualifications for those credits.
