San Francisco Conservation Corps

The Recycling program provides job readiness skills training to young adults. Training is provided on a weekly basis to Corps members who develop skills and environmental knowledge as they undertake various projects to benefit the environment. Activities include collecting recyclable materials from locations throughout San Francisco for sorting, and preparation for buy back at our recycling center. In addition, Corps members are involved in roadside litter abatement.

The San Francisco Conservation Corps, in collaboration with the John Muir Charter School.\, offers young adults in the Corps an an opportunity to be enrolled in one of three possible career pathways. These site-specific career pathways are based not only upon the training and work experience corpsmembers may receive from the program, but also in helping corpsmembers to network with potential employers in their prospective career field.
