To restore and preserve the mill site and other historical buildings of sanborn mills, to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of a 19th century new england farm, and to educate the general public, specifically craftspeople, scholars, and historians.

Operation of sanborn mills farm as a place for people to learn how to work the land in ways that are sustainable and self-renewing. Using the model of a traditional new england diversified working farm (agricutural fields, managed forests, timber framed barns for animals, etc.). The farm serves as a place to apply the lessons learned from the past to current needs for sustainability and community.
Education of the local crafts people by workshops designed to enhance and preserve their skills.
