Mission
Sandy Spring Athletic Association ("SSAA") is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote, supervise, and voluntarily assist in providing a safe and secure recreational athletic environment for young people in the Greater Olney-Sandy Spring Maryland Region. Through proper guidance and exemplary leadership, SSAA continues to promote youth programs that emphasize physical and emotional development, build self-esteem and cultivate a lifelong interest in sports, health and teamwork by espousing the virtues and character, integrity, and sportsmanship. SSAA is dedicated to the development of young people and will encourage them to be exemplary people on and off the field.

Travel Softball - Sandy Spring Athletic Association ("SSAA") offers a travel softball program that services between 12-24 youth girls in Montgomery County, MD and surrounding areas. SSAA's travel softball program has 1-2 teams per year and did not host any Softball tournaments in 2024. Rather, SSAA Softball teams played in various softball tournaments in 2024 hosted by external organizations.
Travel Basketball - Sandy Spring Athletic Association ("SSAA") offers a travel basketball program for boys and girls in Montgomery County, MD and surrounding areas. The SSAA travel basketball program's model is to field Select (travel) teams for boys and girls teams at the 5th grade through 8th grade levels. SSAA's travel basketball program fielded two boys teams in 2024.
