The Santa Cruz Parent Education Nursery School SCPENS is operated within the Santa Cruz City Schools and Adult Education School as a course offering in the Parent Education Division. SCPENS keeps track of Average Daily Attendance Hours ADA generated by its members. Adult Education uses these hours to receive compensation from the State of California. Based on the funds received from the state Adult Education accesses a yearly fee charged to the school to cover the teacher salaries lease payments from the facility and utilities to run the Toddler and Preschool programs. Other Expense include Insurance and Administration fees. The participants pay directly to the Adult Education center.
