Biodiversity research.the organization participated in the california insect biodiversity project in cooperation with the california institute for biodiversity and the los angeles county natural history museum, collecting insect samples at five sites in southern california. Collected samples were analyzed in the organization's lab and inventoried for shipment to the university of guelph in canada, for dna analysis.

Grants to conservation organizations:made a $10,000 grant to the guanacaste dry forest conservation fund for habitat restoration and preservation in costa rica.
