Say Yes To Hope

FRIENDS for the Journey is a valuable program connecting those with advanced cancer to someone who has been there. The first few days, weeks, and even months after learning your cancer has spread can be confusing and frightening. For those who have just learned that they are living with advanced cancer their families, friends, and loved ones this priceless service provides a direct link to others who are experiencing or have experienced life with cancer that has spread. This program was conducted the entire calendar year of 2024 and was offered nationally.

Lunch and Learn: Living with Metastatic Colorectal Cancer is a program created to unite patients who are doing just that - living with cancer that has spread from the colon to other areas of the body. We will discuss the issues (access to treatments and care, management of side effects, pain control, financial hurdles and psychosocial issues) as well as the barriers that often confront them during a relaxing and connecting lunch. By combining peer conversations with experts in the field, many important issues will be addressed and patients attending will be empowered. YES and a team of professionals will reach cancer patients and encourage them to become self-advocates of action and change. Attendees will leave the meeting with information and resources that will help them to discover treatment options, manage their side effects, increase longevity, improve quality of life, and erase the stigma associated with stage IV colorectal cancer. The Lunch and Learn program served 12 regional areas across the south and northeast and was conducted throughout the year of 2024
