Mission

Scholarship Opportunities for Success is an all-volunteer organization which in 23 years has awarded over $1,000,000 to help 215 women. They are given the opportunity to pursue their academic goals, enabling them to obtain jobs that can raise the economic status of their families. Many recipients have overcome abuse, homelessness, addiction and financial hardships and graduate with academic honors.Applicants are carefully screened. They must be at least 18 years old and be US citizens. They must demonstrate financial need and show evidence that they are likely to succeed in achieving their goals.Awards do not exceed $7,500 and are paid directly to the facility providing the needed services. The scholarship funds may be used for tuition at universities, colleges, technology and trade schools, supplies, equipment, books, fees, bus passes and child care.
