Sciart Exchange

SciArt Exchange initiated the Design Your Habitat 2.0 Campaign (DYH 2.0), part of our Xpand Your Horizons Challenges. DYH 2.0 invites artists of all ages to learn about the challenges of living and working in space, and to imagine, create and submit artwork envisioning future space communities. The nonprofit then showcases the best artworks online and at in-person events. The nonprofit created inspiring webcasts and curated resources to help participants learn topics related to this theme and is using DYH 2.0 as a backbone to create multiple spin-off projects related to gaining technology and community involvement experience in schools and out of school time scenarios.

Installations: SciArt Exchange presented an in-person, interactive art installation called Sensing Deep Space: Pandoras Cluster. The experience took visitors through new discoveries in the Pandoras Cluster region of space with both spatial soundscape and visual 3D projection-mapped art translated from and preserving the information from James Webb and other space telescope data. The goal was to use the artwork to enhance public understanding of astronomy data and foster excitement about space, science and technology.
