To advance the science of oceanography thru international coordination of scientific research.

Scor provides assistance to scientists from developing countries and countries with economies in transition to attend major ocean science meetings around the world. Meeting organizers can apply to scor for funding for such travel grants and in a typical year scor supports ten (10) to fifteen (15) meetings and the travel costs of 50-60 students and scientists.
