Mission
The Scientista Foundation is dedicated to promoting gender equality in STEM through managing campus chapters, publishing our volunteer-run blog, and holding events. In 2019, we held our largest-to-date symposium, where we raise $130,000 and gave away $25,000 in scholarships and travel grants. This year we moved our symposium back to Boston, hosting the symposium at the Harvard Medical School. Perricone MD gave the Born Seekers fellowship at this event. The fellowship recognized women in STEM with the potential to change the world with their research. Over 350 applications from all over the US were recieved. We have 25 active collegiate chapters, and we are working to activate chapters that previously had been active. In 2020 we plan to hire a part-time executive director to help with our fundraising efforts!
