Mission

Sea change is a non-profit recovery community organization (rco) with a mission to #crushthestigma ofsubstance use disorder (sud) and what it means to be in recovery. We combine evidence-based practices withhealthy lifestyle approaches to recovery. With compassion, we support both individuals and their concerned families, friends and loved ones through private 1:1 meetings, various support groups, direct outreach, special events, physical activities and community organizing. We believe in all pathways of recovery. We fully support harm reduction and mat (medication-assisted treatment). Research shows that a combination of medication and person-centered support can successfully treat these disorders. Many people struggling with the disease of addiction say that mat has helped them sustain their recovery. Through peer support services, both online and in-person: we make prevention possible, we help survivors heal, we thrive in our lives and we give back to our community.

Programs

National sea change (nsc) is a national movement building power and leadership among people directly impacted by substance use to create a compassionate, community-driven response to the overdose crisis. Founded in 2022, nsc works across key states and communities to build a pipeline of responsive, local leaders rooted in lived experience. We bring together community-based harm reduction centers (hrcs), recovery community organizations (rcos), and people who use drugs to connect, share knowledge, and identify shared needs, barriers, and solutions. We support communities in building relationships, developing leadership, and setting clear goals for action, guided by the belief that people with substance use disorders deserve care, not stigma or punishment. Nsc works to ensure that opioid settlement funds are used to support those most impactedinvesting in harm reduction services, peer-led recovery support, and public health solutions. We help organizations turn strategy into action by supporting the implementation of a harm reduction "roadmap" tailored to local needs. Through strategic communications, we aim to normalize harm reduction and foster broad-based support for policies grounded in health, dignity, and equity. Our core valuespeople, collaboration, partnership, and purposeguide every aspect of our work as we strive to build a future that normalizes harm reduction and shifts public narratives toward health, equity, and human dignity.
