Mission

We cultivate a resilient, equitable, and community-centered local food system. Through markets, education, and collaboration, we connect producers and consumers to each other as well as the knowledge and resources they need to thrive.

Programs

2 programs

Mobile market education programs - in fy25, seacoast eat local expanded its education programs to include the harvesting knowledge workshop series, offering interactive, seasonal classes that connected consumers with local food skills, stories, and producers. At our farmers' markets, we also launched new hands-on educational activities for children, engaging hundreds of young shoppers in learning about fruits, vegetables, farming, and nutrition through games and crafts. These programs fostered deeper community engagement and built awareness of local food systems among all ages.

Expenses: $42K

Summer farmers' market - operation of four weekly summer farmers' markets taking place from may through october. This includes portsmouth (saturdays), exeter (thursdays), dover (wednesdays), and durham (mondays). The markets are made up of a variety of different vendors who sell fruit, vegetables, meat, seafood, eggs, honey, maple syrup, baked goods, value-added foods, hot prepared food, crafts, and body care products. All of our vendors make, grow, harvest, catch, or craft 100% of the products they sell at the market. We also have musicians, nonprofits, and other guests to help make the markets fun, community-oriented, and engaging.
