Mission

See stories is an alaskan 501(c) nonprofit, and our mission is to build inclusive communities with film and story. See stories works to ensure that diverse alaskans and youth are given the media skills to craft stories better representing the alaska they know. We lead documentary film and podcast workshops for teens, empower teachers to lead multimedia projects in their classrooms, and share student-produced media with the public to foster a more inclusive alaskan story and community.

See stories programs were held with 300+ youth, engaging them in digital storytelling & podcasting. Each youth had an average of 30 contact hours through their see stories program / workshop. See stories held these workshops with the following youth / groups / schools: 1) virtual film workshop with students who created films about anilca 2) multiple film workshops in angoon, 3) a workshop in yakutat 4) a workshop in wrangell, 5) shakespeare and hip hop program at johnson youth center school for adjudicated boys, 6) bettye davis east high school music video workshop, 7) bettye davis east high school "story of self" workshops
