Mission

SeedMoney partners with underserved communities in the U.S. and internationally to grow healthy food and build resilience through sustainable, community-led public gardens. We offer crowdfunding tools, challenge grants, and technical support to help schools, food banks, and grassroots groups establish and sustain their own community gardens. By helping communities help themselves, we improve food access, enhance food security, and strengthen local food systems while promoting environmental stewardship.

Programs

1 program

In 2022-23, SeedMoney supported 585 nonprofit food, farm, and garden projects through our annual SeedMoney Challenge. Of these, 352 received challenge grants, and 389 received planning grants, which included free access to garden planning software, technical support, and educational resources. Collectively, participating projects raised $467,663 through crowdfunding and grants. Projects spanned 47 U.S. states and 40 countries and included food bank, school, shelter, and community gardens. These efforts helped communities grow healthier food, strengthen local food systems, and promote environmental sustainability.
