Mission

Provide life services for foster children and families, including aged-out young adults, elderly and other needy. This includes meals, clothes, children's toys and gifts, subsidized housing, light home construction and repair services, life skills and on-the-job training for needy adolescents and young adults.

Programs

2 programs

Push-Start provides light construction and repair services, including remodeling, repair, new light construction and handyman services. These are provided at full price for most clients, and discounted or free for needy clients. This activity also covers the cost of taking on disadvantaged young adults and providing life-skill training and on-the-job work experience and training. Among our community impact projects, we helped a widow whose deck was falling over by building her a new one. Helped a 19 year old single mom get reliable transportation. Put in new fl ooring for another single mom and more. We heavily invested in the discipleship and mental health of Lauren who came to Christ this year! I think that was the most beautiful part of my suffering. As Lauren watched me suffer and keep faith, she came to faith herself and has held that faith despite her many physical and mental health struggles. As always, we conclude this year with our commitment to fi scal transparency. We received $31,524.02 in donations this year. We invested $32,853.29 into the community. This was only accomplished through God?s grace. With how diffi cult this year was it is truly an act of God that we met our goal for every dollar that came in to go back out. It shows just how faithful He is with whatever talents you put to His use.

Selah Mountain was involved in many projects in 2024. We sponsored karate classes all year for at risk children in the fremont county area. The children received quality instruction from a black belt instructor and went from a white belt to yellow belt. This program is on going. We began training with children at Red Rock Stable in our Equine Assisted Learning Program. 5 local foster/adopted children completed the program in 2024. This program will expand in 2025. In 2024 Selah Mountain was able to help over 100 homeless adults and at risk children with needed personal items including diapers, home goods, giftcards, clothes and backpacks with personal hygiene essentials. Our biggest event, "Stuff a Stocking" was the biggest to date. We served over 500 children with new christmas stockings with all new fun stocking items. We also provided each child with a new toy or bike given by Santa. Lunch ,cookies, cocoa was served for free during the 2 day event. This year we invited teachers from the local elementary and jr/sr highschool. The teachers "shopped" for new fun items to give to their homeroom classes. We expect 2025 to be even bigger. We have added a new ministry under our Selah Mountain Ministries umbrella that will debut in 2025, Hire Expectations.
