Organized the second annual farmworker innovation challenge, this time focused on the production of apples while addressing environmental challenges. Open to all farworkers, word of our challenge spread across the hemisphere, to include a group of bolivian farmworkers working in chilean orchards. We more than doubled particpation from 2023 with over 100 women and men submitting their ideas.
Conducted outreach to farmworkers, community-based organizations, trade organizations, and state government, resulting in broader support and media exposure.
Supported farmworker innovators to secure the intellectual property rights for their innovations. We also explored a wide range of options to facilitate farmworker innovators getting their inventions to market.
