Seminole Nation Historical Society

Education: efforts focus on engaging audiences of all ages through the rich history and inspiring artforms of seminole culture. Various programs are available annually for adults, children, and families including art classes, lectures, interactive programs, and workshops. All events are offered at no charge.

Ethnological exhibitions & collections management: the seminole nation museum curates and exhibits artifacts relating to the history and culture of the seminole nation of oklahoma and its national capital, wewoka, in two galleries totaling approximately 2300 square feet. It also maintains an extensive archival collection relating to the same subject matter. The museum provides admission free of charge to the public and serves primarily the 20,000+ members of the seminole nation of oklahoma and the rural communities and schools located within seminole, hughes, pontotoc and pottawatomi counties. The museum saw over 7,400 visitors in 2022 coming from 42 states and 16 foreign countries.
