To support and serve seniors with non-medical services and to promote independent living and enrich quality of life.

Nutrition program (sangamon & menard) springfield specialty meals on wheels delivers lunch and breakfast general diet and diabetic meals. Daily bread is offered at 7 congregate sites and delivery in menard and sangamon counties. In addition to a nourishing meal, daily bread also offers participants an opportunity for fellowship, informative programs and social activities. Home delivered meals are available for those individuals who are homebound and on a general diet.area of coverage includes athens, chatham, divernon, greenview, petersburg, tallula, and the springfield senior center.

Senior transport (sangamon county only) senior transport provides transportation to participants, age 60 or older, living in sangamon county. Vehicles are wheelchair accessible. Policies are provided to participants with information regarding priorities and daily scheduling of appointments. A personal information form (pif) is required to be completed on each participant before service is provided. Transportation is provided to rural county participants on a weekly basis and encompasses the entire sangamon county area.

Elder assistance services (eas) elder assistance services is a program that provides one-on-one home or office visits for advocacy. Eas provides assistance in dealing with physical, family or other related losses that occur as part of the aging process. Counselors provide assistance obtaining access to local, state and federal programs such as medicaid, snap, beam and liheap. The goal is to assist seniors 60 and older who live in sangamon county to remain independent in their own home

Other senior programs:programs and activities at the springfield senior center senior services of central illinois offers individuals a wide array of programs. There is truly something for everyone fellowship, dances, computer courses, dance classes, exercise classes, trips, entertainment, crafts, health programs, volunteer opportunities, plus many more programs. The gift shop offers a variety of items which are hand-crafted by seniors who come to the center. The center invites you to come and participate in our exciting programs and adventurous trips.illinois senior games offers men and women ages 50 and over the opportunity to engage in healthy lifestyle activities through sport competition. The games are hosted every year in sangamon, cook and menard counties, and they offer senior athletes the opportunity to qualify for competition at the national level in the national senior games.
