Sepsis Alliance

Professional education and trainingthe sepsis alliance institute (sai) experienced a 33.6% increase in users, reaching over 55,000 learners. It delivered more than 117,000 rn continuing education credits and added 30 new courses. The organization hosted multiple high-impact events, including the sepsis alliance amr conference, nti expo hall activities, and symposia on maternal/neonatal and immunocompromised patient sepsis. The fifth annual sepsis alliance summit drew over 3,000 registrants. Peer-to-peer engagement also surged, with a 276% increase in discussion responses and a 115% increase in resource downloads.

Policy and advocacysepsis alliance achieved major legislative milestones in 2024. The organization co-introduced lulu's law in the u.s. House of representatives and supported the passage of lochlin's law in maryland. It activated over 1,500 grassroots advocacy actions and secured 38 state proclamations for sepsis awareness month. The organization also influenced national policy through participation in amr coalitions, advocacy training webinars, and media placements in outlets such as nbc, fox news, and reader's digest. Notably, sepsis alliance contributed to the authorization of a new icd-10 code for sepsis aftercare and supported the cdc's rollout of the sepsis core elements program.

Survivor and caregiver supportsepsis alliance connect celebrated its second anniversary, growing to over 2,100 members and offering more than 120 peer support sessions and 15 new on-demand educational programs. The platform introduced affinity groups for young adults and amputee survivors and expanded its educational and resource offerings to better support those affected by sepsis.research and innovationthrough its infection management/sepsis collaborative community (imscc), funded by the administration for strategic preparedness and response (aspr), sepsis alliance completed two major research projects. These included a patient experience survey and a regulatory framework for sepsis-related medical devices, both submitted for peer-reviewed publication. These initiatives underscore the organization's growing role as a convener and thought leader in sepsis innovation.
