Sevier County Farm Bureau

Agriculture leadership activities the sevier county farm bureau structure of organizational leadership provides many opportunities for member leaders to keep abreast of issues that affect agriculture. Local board members attend organizational & educational meetings each month. They participate in other local agricultural, civic, & community organizations. Leaders attend district, state & national conferences to network with farmers & other agriculturalists to learn about current issues facing agriculture. A highly developed committee structure provides leadership opportunities for members through meetings, regular communications, and agricultural activities.

Youth leadership development the sevier county farm bureau supports youth agriculture interests in a couple of different ways. Board members from the sevier county farm bureau assist with the career day at a middle school and answer questions about agriculture and farming and discuss agriculutre related jobs and give insight on what these jobs consist of. The sevier county farm bureau also puts on a farm day where around 300 third grade children get to tour and visit a working farm where exhibits are set up showing how livestock are taken care of and where our food and fiber come from. This is an eyeopening experience for these children to see how important ag is to everyday life.
