Mission

The corporation is formed to alleviate poverty in developing countries through encouraging responsible and sustainable trade, particularly in the textile and apparel industry, and by improving the lives of indigent workers and their families in a specified labor sector.

Programs

2 programs

The factory clinic improvement program (originally launched in 2016 with the ilo/better work program) continues to offer factory clinic nurses health education seminars. Of the 32 factories in haiti, 14 enrolled their clinics. These seminars typically last 3 to 6 hours and cover a variety of topics. The nurses receive certificates for having completed the seminars. Share hope coordinated training on covid-19 and vaccine efficacy for the nurses in the sector.

Expenses: $10K

Share hope foundation discontinued its high school completion program as of january 2021. The gang violence and civil unrest did not allow students to stay any additional hours after work, nor did it allow for the teachers to travel to and from the school site. The team of dedicated teachers looks forward to a time when we would be able to resume what was a unique and much appreciated program. The share hope team is proud to report that one student (wislene lebrun) from our first high school completion program cohort in 2016 graduated from law school in haiti in february of 2021. We are proud of her and the 240 women and men who have been able to complete the program and pass their national baccalaureate exams.
