Mission

The Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition builds healthier, happier, and more connected communities by expanding access to safe places to bike and walk, developing and maintaining trails, empowering youth and new riders, and advocating for active transportation throughout the region.

Programs

1 program

Bikes for Neighbors provides refurbished bicycles, equipment, and basic riding education to community members facing economic hardship or transportation insecurity. In 2024, the program distributed 38 bicycles, along with helmets, locks, and safety gear, helping participants access work, school, and essential services. The program diverts bicycles from the landfill, promotes sustainable mobility, and reduces transportation barriers for low-income residents, new Americans, and families in need.
